Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at University of Warwick

I am 60 this year. Essentially I feel invisible. Obviously the overwhelming majority of students are far younger, many could be my grandchildren theoretically. This is just a fact. However other ' mature ' students do exist, I never liked that label, it implies the younger students are immature and the older ones arent, which we all know isnt always the truth. University for undergraduates especially is a far more social rite of passage, i had mine in the 1980s and great fun it was too. All I am saying is that where do those of my age and similar fit in? I've seen nothing from the Student Union for example focused on my age group or from the university either to be fair. Dont we count? Seemingly not. I applaud and support the fact that we now live in a society where minorities of all kinds are made more welcome, supported and made to feel useful. EDI is in my opinion a good thing, its been poorly advertised and explained to the public, but its core message is one of decency, humanity and respect. Who wouldnt want that? Given that then, why is Uni life projected as virtually exclusively the domain of the young? This I would gently suggest is form of hidden bias, where is my space? where is my place? where is my tribe? Do I and others of my age count or not? and if we do, how and where are we welcome ?

Thank you.

I think the guidance of my personal mentor is the warmest and most useful experience I feel in Warwick, because it makes me feel that someone is supporting me in a strange place. In addition, various activities of the school, such as free breakfast activities, make me feel the school's concern for students. So far, my biggest difficulty is to keep up with the progress in learning. I am looking for a way to seek help from the teacher. read full review
Apart from studying at the university, the best thing I liked are the different societies that a student can be a part of. The only drawback I see with such societies is that their timings tend to be very late. :) Cuz there were times I almost missed my bus to reach home. read full review

Warwick overall has a great campus with lots of facilities to study. It has multiple areas where one can just go and sit in peace to study. read full review
