Ceramics MA

STAFFORDSHIRE UNIVERSITY

Bethia - January 2024

there are really good studio technicians and facilities for ceramics student. however, it would be better if they have more types of kilns e.g. wood-firing kiln, salt-firing kiln ..etc. also, the studio is cold, not good for working in winters. the uni might have to rearrange the studio setting so that radiators are not blocked by shelves read full review
The people and campus vibe are great, but the area lacks activities, especially if you're not into drinking. The student union is helpful, offering jobs. It'd be awesome if they organized more diverse events. Sharing feedback on the student nights could help improve them. Exploring nearby areas might uncover hidden gems, but Stoke itself is not great. Also, high crime rate in the local area, Although I have never had an issue.

Teacher should be more friendly and give more concentration towards student. Class schedules should be student friendly. read full review
As a distance learner the student support and lecturers always keep in contact and respond quickly to any questions I have. Blackboard and all online material is perfect - couldn't ask for a better distance learning experience. read full review
Excellent staff that take pride in their work always supportive and understanding of students in a professional and personal capacity. read full review
The uni is not in the same place as when I started on my undergrad course here in 2019. The nightlife is non-existent, the location is less than ideal (no clubs, nothing to do, living in stoke isn't as good as most cities) although it is very cheap to rent here (£85-£95 pppw incl all bills is average) and private lets are basically on campus they're that close.

The student's union still have some level of student support but other than that they are a far cry from what they once were.

The facilities are lacking in some sectors with decaying equipment or a lack of staff available to use the equipment there, however, for courses such as games, computing, and other IT-related courses, the facilities are second to none. read full review
