BSc Psychology

UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

Student Reviewer - February 2015

I have had an excellent experience. I love the broad area of study within psychology. Liberty Court accommodation is a good 30 minute walk from the campus, a little annoying but still very good. I have joined the Psychology society. Personal tutors give students support and the uni is voted 4th for job prospects after graduation, so hopefully it will be easy to get a job. Birmingham also has great night life and the Bullring is perfect for shopping! read full review
I would recommend my uni. The halls are great but some of the housing is questionable. More technological facilities would be good. I have joined the Women's Rugby club and Aussie Rules society. I enjoy going to the shopping centre, bars and restaurants in the city. There is careers, dissertation and housing support. read full review

BA English Literature

UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

Student Reviewer - February 2015

My course is very interesting and I've developed a lot, both personally and intellectually. The best thing about my course is being taught by friendly lecturers who are experts in their field. The facilities are generally very good but the library needs more computer spaces. There is a really good range of societies. I am part of the film society and book club (I was a member in first year and president in year 2 and 3). The surrounding area of the accommodation is very pretty (has a lake) and the people were very nice. The personal tutors, welfare tutors, academic support (AWAS) and counselling services are very good. There are various job centres/ services at the uni that are very helpful when it comes to applying for jobs. read full review

BA History

UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

Overall I am on a good course, have friendly flatmates and I am in a nice city. There is a large library but sometimes there are not enough computers. There are many societies, I have joined the Christian Union and Human vs. Zombies society. I don't really visit the city much but when I do I go shopping when my flatmates need something. In my accommodation I have everything I could need but things keep breaking. The content in my lectures are great and history has always been my favourite subject. The student union seems good and I have heard of events put on by it, but I don't really know much about it. There is help with careers, academic writing and people to help if you have personal problems. I have not really though about job prospects but I know that the university of Birmingham has good graduate employment. read full review

Geography BA

UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

Student Reviewer - February 2015

Love it here! My course is interesting and well organised. I have joined the Christian Union, Wind Band and Netball clubs. The gym needs re-doing - but is being done! The library and guild are good. I think students can be taken advantage of as they know we'll pay anything for accommodation as we have no other option! I'm not the student union listens to our views either. There is welfare and careers support, and always a tutor I could talk to! I think UoB is a good uni to have on your CV. read full review

History of Warfare

UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

Student Reviewer - February 2015

I have enjoyed my time here and am glad I came. My accommodation was good but was not sure if the price variations were justified. The gym and library/ study spaces are very small compared to the uni's size. There appears to be a wide spectrum of clubs and societies. The student union provides good support but appears separate from the majority and is expensive. The restaurants in the city are good to go to. read full review

BA Modern Languages

UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

Student Reviewer - February 2015

My course is enjoyable and the student union is good. There is support for careers and writing/dissertation. I have joined the Spanish and Japanese societies. The uni does not have enough accommodation places so I couldn't get student accommodation. I like going to the city to shop and eat. read full review
