The best thing about my course are 3rd year modules! The accommodation is good but very expensive. The sport facilities and library could be improved. The students' union is very good. When it comes to getting a job everyone wants a masters! I have joined the polo club. read full review

MSc Financial Economics

UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

Student Reviewer - February 2015

My uni experience has been stressful but enjoyable. I have had support from my classmates and peers on my course. I have joined the Wayfarers Hiking Society and Economics Society. The accommodation is in an excellent safe and secure location and is clean and spacious. The online library search functionality could be improved and the students' union is indifferent. I think relative to my overall grade it will be relatively easy to get a job after uni. I like going shopping in the city. read full review

It has been a good experience here. The social aspect of the course is great and the lecturers are published academics. The course has a good practical/ academic balance. The halls were great and the transition to student housing was easy and good. I love going to the city to find new places. The facilities are mostly okay but think there could be more facilities for my course. I have joined the 3 Bugs, BUDS Dance and Infinity societies. The students' union is well supported and provides multiple opportunities. There are regular updates from the support services to keep you aware. read full review

Psychology

UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

I am finding some topics that I'm very interested in and enjoy learning about on my course. The city life is mostly fun, usually something to do or somewhere to go. Career support is provided to students and is very good. I don’t think it will be easy to get a job. I have joined the table tennis, photography and Students for Justice in Palestine societies. read full review
There are generally good quality lectures but not enough contact hours, but that’s history. Maple Bank accommodation was great - affordable-ish and has all you need. However other areas were way overpriced, p.s. Don't live in Pritchatts House, it's rubbish. The uni facilities are generally good but there's not enough computers or internet - it's not that bad though. There are loads of societies and setting up new ones is pretty easy and well supported. The SU has good facilities but bad leadership and are constantly embroiled in conflict so, despite good intensions, they are unable to achieve anything. There are tons of support services, which are well publicised. Getting a job is not easy at all but it's not the uni's fault, they try. read full review

Human Biology

UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

This uni is good overall. The lecturers are awesome and there is a range of welfare to financial support available. I have joined the Taekwondo society. The city is good to go and watch movies and to go to the German Markets. It is easy to meet other students whilst in accommodation. However the network and IT facilities could be improved and the students' union does not represent the students properly. I don't think it will be very easy to get a job afterwards. read full review

In my opinion I could have more classes and more maths but I like the practical approach of my course. The sports centre is very small. I have joined the choir society. read full review
