Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at University of Essex

The University of Essex has a very strong support structure, especially for international students like myself. I did not struggle to settle in when I first started. However, before arriving at the university, I did not have the best experience due to a delay in the issuance of my CAS. The delay was frustrating, and I believe the university could have communicated more effectively to reassure me during that time. Overall, I have been having a great experience at the University of Essex, and it is a positive place to study. read full review

Great - the only way it could be improved is through more funding so the recent closure of the Southend campus / redundancies wouldn’t impact us read full review

The people really make a difference and get a sense that the staff actually care. The job cuts that the university are planning on making are horrendous and will massively worsen the student experience by putting huge pressure and workload on remaining staff. read full review
The best aspect of my university experience has been the supportive learning environment and the availability of academic resources. Most lecturers are approachable and willing to help, and the facilities such as the library and online learning platforms make studying more flexible and accessible. The diversity of students and the sense of community also make it a welcoming place to study
The worst aspect, however, is that some support services can feel difficult to access or slow during busy periods.
Overall, the university is a great place to study because of its academic support, facilities, and inclusive atmosphere read full review
The campus is lovely, people are friendly. Lecturers are fantastic. Course is well-taught and interesting. The food outlets are not great - not a lot of choice, not high quality, and are expensive for what is on offer. read full review
