Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at Birkbeck, University of London

A fantastic qualification and lots of things to do in London; I love Birkbeck. They could have better facilities though, and cheaper lunches. read full review

There is a 100% employment rate in our chosen field of Theatre Directing. A fantastic course and university. read full review
My overall experience at Birkbeck is very good. On the whole, the lecturers on the course are insightful and the course is informative. There is also decent financial support towards tuition. Unfortunately, I have never engaged with the Students' Union. Also, there are less external class rooms currently, as they are building more infrastructure. read full review

The seminar teachers seem disinterested at times, and some of the lectures aren't engaging enough. The Students' Union is functional but not that great. The night life in London is very good though, but expensive. read full review

I've had a very enjoyable experience at Birkbeck so far. There is a mixture of nationalities on my course, and students of different ages. My accommodation is reasonably priced and in a good location. There is also ample support available for students, including financial support. read full review

Facilities are great and it looks like they have invested money into it. The library is also extensive and over 5 floors and has books on just about anything that you need to study on. read full review
An all round excellent experience. Great environment, great teachers and a student friendly place. The best learning experience you will ever have. Birkbeck caters extremely well to mature students who have other life commitments. Cafe Costa is too expensive though, but apart from that, 5/5. read full review
I would come back to do my Masters degree here! Student services are always there to support you; you feel that you can trust them. London is a very cultured, beautiful place to live and study. read full review
Good atmosphere, good staff and teaching. The most friendly university in the UK. Birkbeck cares about their students to the max, and student support is high class. read full review

It's not a terrible university, but it could be better. Good careers and counselling support services are available to students, and there are always opportunities to get involved with the Students' Union. There are good academic staff on my course. However, student accommodation is not easy to find, and the library is always packed - it's never open enough. My experience with the clubs and societies has been average. They need to improve their communication. read full review
