Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at Birkbeck, University of London

Biomedicine

BIRKBECK, UNIVERSITY OF LONDON

I'm not part of Birkbeck, I belong to Media Pathways and have classes here. The facilities are great, and so are the labs. The library is good too, but it's not that big and they need to stock more medical books. There are many many clubs and societies to join. and Birkbeck has its own bar and club. It's very central, so easy to walk around the beautiful city of London. read full review

I would recommend Media Pathways to students who are going to work hard and put the effort in. It should be relatively easy to get a job after graduating from Birkbeck. I personally haven't used any of the support services, but I know they provide financial, accommodation and health & well-being support. The best things about my course are the interactive teaching and small classes. read full review

I have found Birkbeck to be improving. The course lecturers are interesting. Living in London means there's always something to do. The facilities are a bit lacking compared to other universities. I've had very little contact from the student union. This support services are great particularly with core academic skills. For my job prospects law is extremely oversubscribed. read full review

I enjoy being a student here. The knowledge of the tutors during the seminars is excellent. Living in London allows me to leave the house and have an array of options for the day. We could do with a better student union. It is poorly run. Job prospects require hard work and it helps having studied at Birkbeck. read full review

I love Birkbeck and will be sad to leave in 2015. My lecturers are excellent they make the subjects very interesting. I love what the city has to offer something for everyone and my preference is going to coffeehouses, museums, art galleries and theatre. We need more computers in the library however. There is really good student support available here. read full review

It's good work all around here I am very pleased at Birkbeck. Lectures are followed by very useful classes to consolidate and the lecturers are of a very high standard. Unless I haven't found it - a more comfortable place for casual reading would be nice. I am looking to join the cycling club as Birkbeck doesn't have its own. The student union is very well priced with a good range of TVs and Paul table. The club and societies website is good. The finance services are helpful with setting up payments. While the University can only do so much jobs can be hard to get in the field that is relevant. read full review
