Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at University of Portsmouth

The best part of my university experience has been the supportive learning environment. The lecturers are approachable, the classes are engaging, and there are plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get help when needed. I’ve also met people from different backgrounds, which has helped me grow personally and academically. The campus facilities, especially the library and study spaces, make it a comfortable place to focus on my work.

The downside is that some processes could be more organised. For example, communication about deadlines, timetables, or administrative tasks can sometimes be unclear or delayed. Improving the responsiveness of student support services and providing more consistent information would make the experience even better.

Overall, it’s a great place to study because of its teaching quality and supportive environment, but better organisation and clearer communication would improve it further. read full review

The University of Portsmouth is a well-regarded institution with strong teaching quality and a supportive learning environment. Its coastal location offers a calm setting for study, and the cost of living is more affordable compared to many UK cities. it provides solid academic programmes, helpful staff, and good opportunities for student development. read full review
The best part of my experience at the University of Portsmouth was the supportive teaching, practical learning, and welcoming, diverse community. The coastal setting and walkable city made life enjoyable, and most staff were approachable and helpful. However, some aspects were less positive: teaching quality varied between modules, accommodation standards weren’t always consistent, and the Students’ Union and social spaces could be better. One major issue was that student car parking permits weren’t issued, forcing many students to rely on public transport, which is costly. Considering the significant fees students already pay, free or affordable parking should be available. read full review
It is near the beach, has mild weather, good facilities, a lower cost of living compared to other cities and universities, a strong ranking, and a good mix of diversity and culture. read full review
It's a very interactive uni, and I love that the campus is spread across town. Students and non-students never feel segregated from each other.

However, I feel it detracts from the uni's character a little. Most of the buildings are blocky and ugly and feel more like attending college or an after-school class than university. read full review

The university has great facilities to access your work and provides key programmes to assist the students in networking and planning for their future endeavors. The library is great place to get work done with several monitord and computers for aid. However, when it comes to the social aspect of the university it's quite hard to socialize with new people especially for international Postgraduates. read full review
