Postgraduate Reviews of Courses at University of Portsmouth

Best aspects of my uni experience

One of the best things about my university experience has been the supportive learning environment. The lecturers are approachable, and the teaching style makes it easy to ask questions and stay engaged. I’ve also enjoyed the diversity on campus — meeting people from different backgrounds has made the experience richer and more enjoyable. The facilities, like the library and study spaces, are well-maintained and make it a comfortable place to work.

Worst aspects or areas that could be improved

Although overall things are good, there are still a few areas that could be better. Communication can sometimes be slow, especially when it comes to timetable changes or admin-related issues. Some classes also feel a bit crowded, which can make it harder to get individual attention. Improving these areas would make the experience even smoother. read full review
It is a wonderful place to study and learn. The international environment makes everything more suggestive and professors stimulate you with their lessons. I haven't found a bad thing yet, but I don't think there is. read full review
Waves, Wisdom & The World

Every week, I leave the rush of London behind and head toward the calm of Portsmouth. Three hours on the road, yet it never feels tiring — because I know where I’m going matters. The MBA Global programme doesn’t just teach business; it teaches perspective. Each class feels like a conversation with the world. Cultures blending, ideas clashing, and minds expanding.

What I love most is how the University and the city feel like one, its departments spread across Portsmouth, making the whole city your campus. You learn by the sea, in cafés, and in classrooms that buzz with diversity.

If I could wish for one thing, it would be more afternoon classes for those of us who travel. But beyond that, Portsmouth isn’t just where I study. It’s where I’ll grow, reflect, and find a second home. read full review

Supportive and approachable student services and lecturers. Facilities are decent but could be better. Student union seems to have a history of not addressing student concerns however. Portsmouth itself is a decent location though not the safest at times, especially at night. read full review

Marvellous - November 2025

So far, my experience at the university has been positive. The lecturers are approachable and always willing to help. This school truly brings out the best in you if you’re ready to learn. Although things felt confusing at first, with the support of the dedicated staff and my coursemates, I’m finding my footing. I’d definitely recommend this university to anyone seeking an environment that encourages learning, growth, and personal development.
