Lancaster University

Enjoy being here very much, not the most exciting university for going out every night, but there is a chilled out atmosphere and always feel at home and happy.

I like how it is spread out across campus and town with various bars and clubs. Makes a change from the normal SU complex at most universities. Invest their money well in facilities, clubs & societies.

Lancaster isn't very focused on achieving the BEST sporting results however clubs and societies get reasonable funding and would massively recommend to any student that they get involved with something.

My first year accommodation was a county townhouse and the facilities and life in there is excellent, along with a excellent location on campus for fresher life.

Gym is nice enough, with good sports hall and sports pitches. A lot of the subject specific buildings are well kitted out for learning. The only thing that is frustrating is the lack of working space when exam time is near, can be hind to find places to work, especially with the library being refurbished

Course is very interesting and I find it gets better and better every term with more interesting topics and new projects that have to be undertaken. Some of the lecturers are better than others, some are very inspiring, others have interesting course content but are not very exciting. Mostly good though.

I enjoy living in the city in my second year, it has most shops you would expect from a city the size of Lancaster. I like the fact that it isn't too big and is mostly student based, others find it a bit monotonous as there isn't much variety regarding nightlife.

Always feel on my course that they are teaching things that will be relevant in the future. Plenty of CV support areas and practice interviews and assistance in finding jobs.

Student support is around where wanted. Personally I have not ever had to use and of the support however i am well aware of its existence. Have heard good things from those who have used the services.
