International Relations with a Year Abroad

UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM
Overall Rating

I recommend this university especially because of all the support available to students. It's also good if you want a balance between city and campus life. The staff are also very approachable especially if you have any problems.

Student Union

Clubs and Societies

Wide range of societies on offer. However, joining sports is expensive compared to other universities in my opinion.

Accommodation

Nice accommodation and atmosphere. However, its far too expensive!!

Uni Facilities

Good facilities overall but more working/computer spaces would be great. Gym is too expensive!

Course and Lecturers

The course in first year is very good as it provides a foundation. The modules are a bit lacklustre in second year. Lecturers and seminar leaders: all depends on what modules and class times you pick. I'd say half have been really good and the other half have not. If you haven't been given constructive feedback from essays, find another seminar leader to give you this.

City Life

Job Prospects

Internships (in the UK and abroad) are always advertised and there are other opportunities such as study abroad and industrial placements available.

Student Support

My personal tutor has been excellent. The careers office has also been very helpful. Quite a few scholarships and busaries available.

Having said what you have said would you recommend your uni?
