University of Greenwich

I have to say that the internal organization is absolutely terrible! Teachers that don't know their classes have been moved, plenty of students with problems on their timetables at the beginning of every singe term, amongst others. Also, there really are teachers who are absolutely terrible and most of the times I feel like I just to learn everything on my own.

I think they actually do a good work and it's not recognized very often. This happens because the communication University - Students is terrible for some reason and they need to figure that out, probably by implementing some marketing strategies and more direct communication with the students.

There are plenty of societies and I've joined about 3 or 4 this year. Still, I feel that most of them could be way more active but I'm not sure of who's to blame: the members of the societies or the SU.

London is an expensive place and, considering that, I think the price for the accommodation is good (specially because all our bills are included!). It's clearly a students hall but its reasonable, and they are working towards improving the student's halls. The ones in Greenwich are really convenient as they are quite close to uni, you don't even have to pay for transport.

The uni just built a new library, which looks really good, has a starbucks cafe inside, has a small gallery and study rooms that you can book with a group of friends. Still, there are still no computers for all of the students! It gets quite hard to get a place in a computer. Also, the buses between campuses could be so much better: more regular and working until later.

There are some good lecturers and some bad lecturers, as in every uni, but I find way too may tutors who are just absolute rubbish and I learn nothing from them. Also, there are way too many teachers with a really strong accent which makes it difficult for both national and international students.

I like that Greenwich is a more quiet area of London. Even though it may get busy on weekends with families and some tourists, it is never too much. The area is just gorgeous, there are quite a few museums and galleries for such a small place, plenty of restaurants, a beautiful scenery by the river, the Greenwich market and the transportation for central London is really easy (either by train, bus or DLR)

I don't think this university is that well recognized in the job industry, so on that the job prospects wouldn't probably be amazing. Still, I feel that they do give the skills to the students, it's just a matter of us taking the opportunity: there are plenty of events, activities, societies, jobs, etc that will enrich our CV

There is plenty of support services and they are usually extra quick to answer your emails.
