UNIVERSITY OF KENT
Overall Rating

Amazing location away from the busy cities, can be very relaxing and helps to focus on studying. It has good transport links to the rest of Kent and to London.

Has a lot of on campus bars and restaurants, generally a cheap place to eat out with friends and have a good time.

Campus is very safe with security always around and only a call away. They’ve always been very friendly and happy to help out.

Lecturers are always open to help out outside of lectures.

Kent student union have done a lot to help with the cost of living crisis by providing ways to get cheaper hot meals as well as there being a food bank.

There’s also lots of services that help you thoughout your studies as well as afterwards. Like the Kent careers service, mental health and wellbeing support and academic advisors.

One thing that could be better is although Kent have been making an effort to help with the cost of living crisis, renting at the campus has been ever increasing year on year with student finance not increasing by the same amount to cover the extra costs. A year cap could greatly help by decreasing the biggest challenge to living - rent.

Accommodation service also takes a while to get back about fixing things in the accommodation that are not emergencies.

There are also a lack of events for postgraduate students.

Student Union

Accommodation

Takes months to come out and fix simple issues.

Support tickets get ignored for months.

They hound you for money even if you’re on a monthly payment plan yet will leave you without fixing your issues for months.

Never take responsibility for anything that is wrong in the accommodation.

Wifi speed and connection is generally very good and reliable.

All bills do come included as well as a free gym membership which is very nice.

Generally emergency fixes like no white water or gas are fixed quickly.
