Firstly, expanding mental health support services, including shorter wait times for counseling would provide crucial assistance for international students who are in dire need of assistance. Secondly, increasing affordability of on-campus accommodation, could improve accessibility for students from different walks of life. Thirdly, the residential community team should strictly impose quiet hours across all accommodations and penalize anyone who does jot abide by it. Finally, sustainable practices across campus need to be significantly increased in order to ensure environmental responsibility and resonate with student values. These enhancements would further strengthen Warwick’s supportive and forward-thinking community.

Accommodation

Living in Tocil has exceeded my expectations. It is strategically located as it is both near the central campus and the grocery stores. I do not have to worry about being late to classes, running to the grocery store for a quick purchase or going to the library at late hours. The proximity not only supports efficient time management, but also encourages greater participation in university events and activities and enriching both academic and social life. As an international student, I was confused about how to use the hob, oven & washing machine. Fortunately, the residential community team have been kind enough to help me out with those queries. Although I have to share the flat with 12 other people, it has been a pleasant experience so far. It is a great relief that our kitchen and bathrooms are regularly cleaned so sharing them with so many people does not feel like a burden. I am glad that all postgraduates were put in the same flat instead of it being a blend of undergrads and postgrads as the two groups tend to have different priorities. I am also a fan of the occasional events and recreational activities such as Halloween party, baking competitions, etc. that are held to keep our spirits high. On-campus accommodation is cost-effective, offering bundled services, such as utilities, Internet, and maintenance. Moreover, with access to 24/7 security and well-maintained facilities, we benefit from a safe and hassle-free environment. Overall, on-campus accommodation provides a balanced, supportive and economical living experience, making it a valuable investment that enhances both personal and academic growth.
