University of Dundee

The admin at this university do not care about international students once they're on campus. It was ridiculous trying to track down help for anything, and when you did, you often had to wait longer than the semester was scheduled for. They do not allow adult student to have adult issues during their period of study, and you harshly punished for it, and any pleas you make for leniency in your coursework are put under a microscope and judged by people with their noses in the air.

Decent enough place to stay, but just know you are paying an extraordinary rate for convenience - almost 1000 pounds a month to share a flat with five other people when you could get a flat off-campus for half that, with fewer flatmates or none.

Maintenance was very hit or miss, sometimes they'd respond in a timely manner, sometimes you'd have to email again. Very hot and stuffy, you're unable to open the windows more than an inch and on a slant, and the shower is barely big enough to spin in. There was no lift in my building, there might be in a building made for those with a need for one, and there was no system set up for arriving students to receive help carrying their belongings up 3-4 flights of stairs.

When the fire alarm goes off you all get in trouble for it. Literally screamed at in the courtyard by the security guy.

Oh also, they'll keep telling you that they aren't affiliated with the university but that the university is the only one that has access to the security cameras on the building. So. Don't know what they're trying to do there, shirk responsibility most likely.

I did enjoy the sense of community and I do still keep in touch with my flatmates, we got along famously. We had many good times together, shared many meals together.
